Recomposition of a student work, updating it to my newly realized practice, as well as putting forth a sort of macrostructural form at a layer beyond the text:

Intro - Any voice generates melodic material, which may be indistinguishable from the following section

Chant - Monodic variations of the material/textual expression, often an elaboration of the intro

Inflection - Polyphonic modulation/extension/development of the previous, organic, as if growing from the root

Recit - Cantor expresses the text, without any relationship to the material

Lyrical Coda - Free polyphonic moment, not based upon any previous sections, resolves into a final summation of the material

Outro - Cantor resolves the tension of the coda

Essentially, a sort of paraphrase technique, however, unlike Obrecht, et al. the material is not exterior, but rather from itself.

The material of the inflection and coda will tend to contrast from the initial material, but in uniquely different ways. The inflection is rather liberal, quasi una fantasia, whereas the coda is unique in conception, a totally different entity that finds itself coming into the initial material.
